Event: 'The Icarus Project Minneapolis Peer Support And Discussion Group'

Meetings
Date: Wednesday, June 18, 2008 At 07:00
Repeat Event: Repeat every Wednesday
Contact Info:

The Icarus Project Minneapolis is part of the Icarus Project Network — a group created by people with bipolar disorder who wanted to address mental health issues in the progressive community, and find ways to support each other.

This is a weekly meeting for people dealing with their own mental health issues, whether that’s bipolar disorder, depression, schizophrenia, anxiety, undiagnosed angst (!), etc. We meet for about two hours, and it’s somewhere between a support group and a discussion group. We’re laid back, but everything that’s said in the group is confidential. It’s a really warm, nice place to share and learn from others about how to negotiate being labeled “mad” in a crazy world, or get info on meds, or unload about what’s going on in your life. Or dozens of other things. We’re open to lots of different perspectives, including people who don’t take meds and people who do. It’s a diverse group!

So, please join us! Whether you’ve been dealing with a mental health issue, or are just interested in supporting those who are, we’d love to work with you. If you have any questions, feel free to email us.
