Andrew Flood of the Irish anarchist organization
Workers Solidarity Movement Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008 7:00 PM With talks now delivered in 21 cities in the North Eastern USA and Eastern Canada the 'Building a Popular Anarchism' speaking tour continues to another 22 cities in the South East, Mid-west and the North West USA ending in the Bay Area. A decade ago the active anarchist movement in Ireland consisted of little more than a dozen people in two small groups. Today hundreds of people are active and one banned libertarian demonstration in 2004 saw 5,000 people take part. Anarchists are increasingly replacing Irish republicans as the bogeyman of the mainstream media. This talk explains how this breakthrough happened and details the various struggles anarchists have been involved in. http://twincities.indymedia.org/newswire/display/33331/index.php |
