The Sparkle Kids Action Network presents Chorus of Crayons Tour 2006: a four week tour featuring Jacinta Bunnell, Michael Truckpile, Julie Novak, and Dave End. This troupe of independent thinkers, songwriters, artists, and activists will be bringing a coloring book-making workshop, acoustic music* and a hearty collection of CDs, crafts and books to cafes, bookstores, collective houses, bowling alleys and art spaces near you. Beginning June 15th from their home in New York's Hudson Valley, the Sparkle Kids will embark on a month-long tour throughout the Northeast, Midwest and Canada in their converted 1987 veggie-diesel Mercedes. Dealing creatively with the themes of gender, politics, queer issues, work and play, this combination of independents makes quite a scene.

Jacinta Bunnell is the creative force behind two genderific coloring books: Girls Will Be Boys Will Be Girls Will Be... (Soft Skull Press) and Girls Are Not Chicks. Jacinta is a nursery rhyme activist who has facilitated workshops on sexuality, gender, and zine-making for over eleven years. She rounds out the Sparkle Kids... tour with her exciting and activating make-your-own coloring book workshops during which participants work together to create a collective coloring book to take home, photocopy for friends and shake up your family's ideas of what Rapunzel really will do once she frees herself from the tower with the help of a little duct tape and some power tools. You are sure to leave her workshops feeling as super sassy as Red Fraggle from Fraggle Rock.
