The Arise! Gardening Committee has turned the backyard into a great garden. We're using raised beds, pots, and even tires to grow fresh produce. We're growing tomatoes, potatoes, peas, beans, beets, squash, eggplant, cabbage, peppers, and more.

Stop by the store to check out the garden for inspiration and then come in and check out the books we've got to help you get started gardening in a space near you.

Food Not Lawns
FNL is one part gardening manual, one part community building memoir, and one part narrative from the author's journey from Food Not Bombs to Food Not Lawns on the West Coast.

Edible Schoolyard
ES is an overview of a Berkeley Middle School's experience turning long neglected bits of land into a successful space for students to learn how to grow their own food. Students learn about cooking, community, and the invaluable lesson that you don't have to buy what you need to survive.
